LKS was selected as a finalist in the Blue Stars Red Carpet event sponsored through the Office of Student Activities. Their entry was the First Annual Dr. Salk Hall Competition, an inter-professional charity event held in January 2013 in collaboration with the School of Dental Medicine. The School of Pharmacy and School of Dental Medicine share Salk Hall as their classroom building on campus. The entry was submitted into the “Most Creative or Unique Program of the Year.”

The University of Pittsburgh Division of Student Affairs hosted the annual Blue Stars Red Carpet Awards Ceremony to recognize individual leaders, advisors and organizations that have contributed to making the University of Pittsburgh the best collegiate experience in the world.

Lambda Kappa Sigma (LKS) is an international, professional pharmacy
fraternity open to undergraduate and graduate pharmacy students and
practicing pharmacists. Since its establishment in 1913, LKS has grown to more than 18,000 members, with 44 campus chapters and 36 alumni groups chartered internationally. The mission of the Fraternity is to promote the profession of pharmacy among women and advance women within the profession by developing its members as individuals and leaders through the support of fellow members while encouraging a high standard of professional ethics and scholarship.
