Assistant Professor Shilpa Sant, PhD presented at the Fifth Annual Biomechanics Day Symposium at Carnegie Mellon University on September 16, 2013. Biomechanics Day is an annual symposium bringing researchers who use the tools or principles of biomechanics from around the Pittsburgh area to meet, share research, and network. Sant’s presentation discussed engineering controlled microenvironments to study tumor progression and test the therapeutic responses.

Distinguished Scientists, Dr. Mina Bissell (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory) and Dr. Yu-Li Wang (Head of Biomedical Engineering Carnegie Mellon University) were keynote speakers.

Shilpa Sant, PhD is a faculty member at the School of Pharmacy pharmaceutical sciences department.
