Amy L. Seybert, PharmD, FASHP, FCCP, CHSE was invited to present her simulation teaching and research titled Simulation in Pharmacy Education at the recent 20th Annual Congress of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP) in Hamburg, Germany. Seybert presented PittPharmacy’s innovative use of simulation within pharmacy training programs and our 14 year history of leading the use of simulation within the field of pharmacy. Additionally, Seybert presented inter-professional training programs while highlighting the medication safety improvements seen with the use of simulation education in the patient care setting.
The EAHP is an association of national organizations representing hospital pharmacists at European and international levels. The Congress welcomed over 3500 attendees from 35 countries. The EAHP member countries include France, Netherlands, Belgium, Britain, Denmark, Germany, Norway, Greece, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Hungary, Luxembourg, Finland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Serbia, Turkey, Bulgaria, Bosnia Herzegovia, Iceland, Malta, and Romania.
Seybert is the chair of the pharmacy and therapeutics department and associate professor at the School of Pharmacy.
