PittPharmacy_KaceyAnderson_007Graduate student, Kacey Anderson, was awarded the American Foundation for Pharmaceutical Education (AFPE) Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in Pharmaceutical Sciences.

AFPE Pre-Doctoral Fellowships in the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pre-Doctoral Fellowships in the Clinical Pharmaceutical Sciences support the most exceptional PhD students during the advanced, research phase of their pharmaceutical sciences course of study and enable them to focus intensively on industry-oriented subjects such as: drug development, drug delivery, clinical trial design and management, pharmacoeconomics, and manufacturing quality control. In the course of their graduate studies, AFPE Fellows receive drug-focused training, in-depth introductions to industry processes, and experience in the use of teamwork and cross-functional collaboration to achieve industry research, development, evaluation and manufacturing goals.

The receipt of an AFPE Pre-Doctoral Fellowship in a national competition among her peers is a great honor.  Anderson is now a member of a very distinguished group of men and women who have received AFPE Pre-Doctoral Fellowships since 1942.

Anderson is a PhD candidate in the clinical pharmaceutical sciences department at the School of Pharmacy. Professor Samuel M. Poloyac, PharmD, PhD is her faculty advisor.
