PittPharmacy’s “Readiness Assessment” is the recipient of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy 2017 Award for Excellence in Assessment. The Readiness Assessment was developed by PittPharmacy faculty and staff, led by Associate Professor Neal Benedict, PharmD. The assessment is a five-station, blended simulation assessment administered as a progress test across the curriculum to teach and evaluate key patient care outcomes.

This award recognizes outstanding Doctor of Pharmacy assessment programs for their progress in developing and applying evidence of outcomes as part of the ongoing evaluation and improvement of pharmacy professional education. Program level assessment is defined as the systematic collection, review and use of information about PharmD programs undertaken for the purpose of improving student learning an/ or the program and its affiliated elements.

Benedict will attend and present during the 2017 AACP annual meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, July 2017.
