PittPharmacy faculty member Jim Coons, PharmD, FCCP, BCCP was appointed to the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Simulation Work Group. This committee enhances actionable knowledge by creating and integrating simulation solutions that complement ACC’s educational needs. These efforts also promote the ACC member’s commitment to performance in practice and lifelong learning.

At the ACC Annual Meeting (ACC.19) in New Orleans, Louisiana, Coons served as faculty for the Personalized Skills & Simulation Center and as a presenter for the session “Who, What and Why of CV Simulation: From Learning Outcomes to Return on Investment.”

Coons also presented on the management of patients with pulmonary hypertension (“State of the Art Case Based Lecture: WHO Should Get What? A WHO PAH Group-Based Approach to Treatment”). The presentation was part of the Pharmacology Session titled “Clearing the Air on Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.”
