PittPharmacy Associate Professor Pamela L. Smithburger, PharmD, MS, BCPS, BCCCP, FCCP, FCCM was appointed as Chair of the Society of Critical Care Medicine’s “Choosing Wisely the Next 5” Campaign Taskforce. The Choosing Wisely Campaign focuses on identifying approaches to care in therapeutics and diagnostics that may not support the best high-value care due to the way that they are being used. The Choosing Wisely Campaign is designed to help initiate conversations between patients and providers to improve care.
Smithburger will lead an inter-professional team of critical care professionals including physicians, nurses, and rehabilitation specialists in the development of the “Next Five”.
