Jan H. Beumer, PharmD, PhD was awarded a National Cancer Institute (NCI) contract for Preclinical Drug Development Research. The NCI contract is one of only five in the country. The research conducted under task orders in the contract support the development of new cancer medications.
Beumer will conduct preclinical pharmacology research to determine doses for human clinical trials and the most effective means of drug delivery. This NCI award makes Beumer’s group eligible for up to $9.9 million in task orders over five years.
Beumer is an associate professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.
