PittPharmacy Professor Wen Xie, MD, PhD has been appointed as an editorial board member for Drug Metabolism and Disposition, a leading journal on drug metabolism published by the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET). This is the third term for Xie as an editorial board member for this journal. The current term runs through year 2020.
Xie was also an invited speaker for two international conferences on drug metabolism and nuclear receptors during December 2017.
Xie’s presentation “Tissue-Specific Role of Estrogen Sulfotransferase in Energy Metabolism” was given during the Ling-Nan International DMPK Summit Conference, Guangzhou, China December 1-3, 2017. His presentation “A Sulfotransferase-Mediated Negative Feedback that Regulates the Gluconeogenic Activity of HNF4alpha” was presented at the 8th Xiamen Winter Symposium on Nuclear Receptors, Xiamen, China, December 8-11, 2017.
Xie is Chair of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Department and the Joseph Koslow Endowed Chair at the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy.
