Melissa McGivney PharmD, FCCP, FAPhA received a grant from Pennsylvania Pharmacists Association for her research titled “State Public Health Actions to Prevent and Control Diabetes, Heart Disease, Obesity and Associated Risk Factors and Promote School Health”

PittPharmacy will support engagement of non-physician team members (e.g., nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, nutritionists, physical therapists, social workers) in hypertension and cholesterol management in clinical settings. It will also promote the adoption of MTM between pharmacists and physicians for the purpose of managing high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and lifestyle modification.

McGivney is Associate Dean for Community Partnerships and Associate Professor at PittPharmacy.
