PittPharmacy students Alan Yee, Vincent Knecht, and Yihan Li (Class of 2022) competed in the 2020 ACCP Clinical Research Challenge under the guidance of faculty member Jennifer A. Pruskowski, PharmD, BCPS, BCGP, CPE.
After winning the local competition hosted by the University of Pittsburgh chapter of SCCP, the team continued to compete in the national competition. The first two rounds consisted of an online journal club and a letter of intent submission.
The PittPharmacy team was one of the top 20 scoring teams from a field of 86 schools advancing them to the final round of the competition.
In the final round, the team designed a theoretical research protocol that aimed to improve care for pregnant women with diabetes. The submission was named a “Finalist Proposal”, a designation only given to the top third of all teams competing in the final round.
