Sue Skledar (Pharm ’88, MPH ’91), RPh, MPH, FASHP, Director of Experiential Learning and Continuing Professional Development, and Professor, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, received the 2021 Stanford I. Cohen Teacher of the Year Award. This award is in memory of Mr. Stan Cohen, a role model community pharmacist who was past president of the PittPharmacy Alumni Society and a key volunteer who helped start the University’s Annual Giving Fund Program at Pitt.

Skledar was nominated for this award by the graduating class of 2021, who selects one faculty member each year for this prestigious honor. She received the award for her work in leading the Experiential Learning Program team to create and maintain meaningful, and safe, in-person and remote student learning experiences during this challenging pandemic year. Her nomination noted, “…having Professor Skledar as a mentor during pharmacy school proved to be an invaluable resource, priming us for ultimate success. Her unrelenting work ethic and dedication to student success truly makes her an exceptional educator, and the embodiment of a role model to emerging pharmacists from Pitt.”
