Rebecca Babalola and Madeline Lipp

Pitt Pharmacy graduate Rebecca Babalola, and current graduate student Madeline Lipp, have each received 2021 AACP Walmart Scholar’s Awards. Recipients of this award were chosen from across the country — with over 1,200 students, residents, and fellows being selected to participate with their mentors since the programs’ inception, 16 years ago.

The purpose of the scholarship program is to foster recipients’ commitment to academic pharmacy, while helping them to develop skills in this area. More information and the official announcement may be found here.

Rebecca Babalola is a 2020 graduate of Pitt Pharmacy’s PharmD program. Her faculty mentor is Lauren Jonkman, PharmD, MPH. Madeline Lipp, whose faculty mentor is Kerry Empey, PharmD, PhD, is one of five Clinical Pharmaceutical Science students who graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Institute for Clinical Research Education (ICRE) earlier this year with their Certificate in Clinical Translational Science for Doctoral Students.
