2022 Preceptor of the Year

Join us in congratulating our 2021-22 Pitt Pharmacy Preceptors of the Year! From our student nominations, three of our preceptors were honored with the 2021-22 Scott R. Drab Preceptor of the Year Award, which is an annual award from the Experiential Learning Program at the School of Pharmacy. These pharmacists showed their dedication, drive, and creative commitment to student learning in their introductory and advanced pharmacy practice experiences (IPPE and APPE). We are grateful to these preceptors for their extraordinary work with our students this past year. These pharmacists received their awards at the 2022 Pitt Pharmacy graduation ceremony, which can be viewed here.

The 2022 awardees are:

Preceptor of the Year (APPE): Edward Horn (’00), PharmD, BCCCP, Associate Professor of Pharmacy and Therapeutics, University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy; Clinical Pharmacy Specialist, Heart Transplantation and Mechanical Circulatory Support, UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute

Preceptor of the Year (IPPE): Edward DeCaria, RPh, Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacist, Porter’s Prescription Pharmacy, Moon Township, PA

Preceptor of the Year (APPE): Kyle McCormick (’14), Founder, Owner, and Pharmacist, Blueberry Pharmacy, West View, PA
