International Students

The Graduate Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences is pleased to accept applications from highly qualified international students. International students accepted to the PhD program are eligible for tuition scholarships and teaching assistant positions. We offer no tuition scholarships or teaching assistant stipends to MS students.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION

Students who have earned a degree from a U.S. college or university are not required to submit either TOEFL or IELTS scores.

International applicants who are citizens of a country whose official language is not English and who have not completed a degree program at a regionally accredited institution in the United States of America must complete either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL;www.toeflgoanywhere.org) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS; www.ielts.org). A minimum score of 100 on the iBT (Internet-based test), OR a minimum score of 7.5 on the IELTS, is required for admission. TOEFL and IELTS scores are good for two years.
Three letters of reference are required and must be submitted online via the online application site.

Students accepted into the program will receive detailed information from the University’s Office of International Services (OIS) regarding the VISA application, requirements upon entering the United States, and requirements for pursuing an advanced degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
