Wen Xie, professor of pharmaceutical sciences, the Joseph Koslow Endowed Chair in Pharmaceutical Science, and director of the Center for Pharmacogenetics, was one of two oversea speakers and panel members at a recent conference on “Gut Homeostasis in Major Chronic Diseases.” This invitation-only conference was organized by the Department of Health Sciences of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) in Shanghai, November 12-13, 2012. The mission of the conference was research discussion and providing expert recommendation on NSFC’s funding priorities in this area. The title of Wen Xie’s presentation was “Orphan Nuclear Receptors In Intestinal Homeostasis.”
