PittPharmacy_ValerieNolt_9192Valerie Nolt (Class of 2016) has been selected to serve as an international representative on the International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation Development Fund Committee. The goal of this committee is to give every pharmacy student an equal opportunity to fully participate in IPSF activities. The Development Fund is steered by the Development Fund Committee that consists of three members, the committee chair, and the IPSF Treasurer. When making decisions on Development Fund Grants (student exchange program, world congress, membership fee, and project grants), applicants coming from the developing countries are prioritized.

Nolt is also a national representative for the American Society of Health-System Pharmacy (ASHP) Pharmacy Student Forum as a member of the Student Society Development Advisory Group. This group serves to advise ASHP regarding the facilitation of growth and development of Student Societies of Health-System Pharmacy (SSHP). This is accomplished by developing, providing, and evaluating resources designed to support the growth and development of SSHPs; providing support for campus outreach efforts to aid individual SSHPs in the pursuit of official ASHP-SSHP recognition; exploring opportunities to strengthen the triad relationship between ASHP, SSHPs and State Affiliate organizations; and encouraging and fostering collaboration and information sharing of best practices between student societies of health-system pharmacy.

Nolt will be attending  and assisting with the SSHP Leaders’ Workshop at the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana.
