Assistant Professor Shilpa Sant, PhD  has received a grant from the National Institute of Health (NIH, NIBIB) for the study entitled Engineered Microenvironments to Model Effect of Size in Tumor Progression. The goal of this study is to develop a three-dimensional tissue-engineered breast tumor model to understand how tumor growth and in turn, metabolic stress/hypoxia promotes tumor progression.

Shilpa Sant is a faculty member at the School of Pharmacy department of pharmaceutical sciences with secondary appointments in the Department of Bioengineering and McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine.
